Adventure Travel in Nepal

With its majestic Himalayan Mountains and fascinating local culture, Nepal is a favorite destination for adventurous travelers. Each year thousands embark upon the experience of a lifetime to spend days or weeks in the breathtakingly beautiful country of Nepal.
Most adventure travelers in Nepal will be treated to magnificent views from high in the mountains. They will wander through pure forests and past clear mountain lakes, rivers and waterfalls. They'll visit remote Buddhist monasteries and shrines and see tiny mountain villages, full of friendly locals.
Trekking expeditions in Nepal are quite popular. They typically involve a small group of people who have been given a list of equipment, such as hiking boots, to bring with them to Nepal. Once they arrive in the country they set off together to explore. There is usually a trekking staff that comes along on the trip and carries most of the camping equipment and even the travelers' bags. They set up the camp, cook meals and break camp, leaving the traveler to enjoy the trek without the physical hardship of toting heavy packs.
Treks are available for people with various abilities. While a person should be in good shape for these treks, one does not need to be a tri-athlete to take part. There are more strenuous treks for those in great physical condition, as well as easier treks. Many of the easier treks are appropriate for families and allow children to participate. Some companies rate the treks they offer by level of difficulty, to help travelers judge which trek would be best for them.
While trekking is one of the most popular forms of adventure travel in Nepal, it is by no means the only one. There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in beautiful and mysterious Nepal.
- The Himalayas make Nepal a favorite destination for mountain climbers. There are well over 100 peaks open to mountain climbers in Nepal, including the famed Mount Everest.
- The mountains of Nepal also have trails for mountain bikers of varying skills.
- Nepal offers challenging climbing cliffs for avid rock climbers.
- While rafting and kayaking in Nepal, adventurers can float along picturesque mountain rivers enjoying tranquil views, far from the well-traveled paths.
- Finally, adventure travelers in Nepal can choose to experience a jungle safari from a jeep or the back of an elephant. Nepal's wildlife reserves and conservation areas boast a variety of unique animals, including the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Greater One Horned Rhinoceros.

Meaningful Travel in Nepal

- Peter Davidson

Nepal has been the adventure destination for quite some time with the giant Mount Everest as its main attraction. Nepal has established itself as one of the top trekking travel destinations in the world and now is also becoming one the top eco travel destinations in Asia.
Nepal is bordered to the north by the People's Republic of China, and to the south, east, and west by the Republic of India. With a population of approximately 30 million, Nepal is the 41st most populous country. Katmandu is the nations capital and the country largest metropolitan city.
Nepal is a country of highly diverse and rich geography, culture, and religions. The mountainous north contains eight of the worlds ten highest mountains, including the highest, Mount Everest. The fertile and humid south is heavily urbanized.
This is a very beautiful country with many great deals for your meaningful travel experience. You will find many opportunities to enjoy a great and spectacular holiday here in this great country.
Trekking is not the only activity which draws visitors, it also has some superb white water rafting opportunities, mountain biking, which is become more and more popular, and down in the jungle, safaris on elephant back into the Royal Chitwan National Park are another part of the Nepal experience.
By some measures, Hinduism is practiced by a greater majority of people in Nepal than in any other nation. A minority faith in the country, Buddhism is linked historically with Nepal as the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama who, as the Buddha Gautama, gave birth to the Buddhist tradition.
Nepal had been a monarchy throughout most of its history. Prithvi Narayan Shah, a Shah dynasty king, unified the many small kingdoms in 1768. Since then, the country had been ruled by a dynasty of kings. However, a decade-long Peoples Revolution by the Communist Party of Nepal along with several weeks of mass protests by all major political parties of Nepal in 2006, culminated in a peace accord and the ensuing elections for the constituent assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of the abdication of the last Nepali monarch Gyanendra Shah and the establishment of a federal democratic republic in May 28, 2008.
What does eco travel mean ?
Ecotourism means travel that strives to be of low impact and small scale. Eco travel helps educate the traveler and provides funds for conservation of the area. It also directly benefits the economic development and political empowerment of local communities in Nepal.
Generally speaking, ecotourism focuses on volunteering, personal growth and learning new ways to live. It typically involves travel to destinations in Nepal where flora, fauna and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Ecotourism is a conceptual experience, enriching those who delve into researching and understanding the environment around them. It gives us insight into our impacts, as human beings and also a greater appreciation of our own natural habitats.
Nepal is a great destination for ecotourism because of the beauty of the country. Nepal is becoming one of the top destinations for eco travel and tours in the world. The beauty of the country, the hospitality of the people and the variety on offer make this a special place for a special holiday.

Hilly Travel Place "Manang District Nepal"

Manang District(Nepali: मनाङ जिल्लाAbout this sound Listen , a part of Gandaki Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal. The district, with Chame as its district headquarters, covers an area of 2,246 km² and has a population (2001) of 9,587.

The pass of Thorung La at 5415 meters above the sea connects the district to Mustang District by providing a route between the towns of Manang and Muktinath.
The Manang Valley, which lies close to the Nepal-Tibet border, offers tremendous
opportunities due to its rich natural flora and fauna. Three tracks start from here. The first, via Thorangla, Muktinath, and Mustang to Lhasa—a journey that takes four days; the second via Naur Khola and Naurgaon, which takes five days to Lhasa; and finally the third via Larkiya bazar, which is the one most commonly used by the people of Central Nepal.
Along with the Marwaris who have migrated from India to Nepal in large numbers, the Manangies are the best known traders of Nepal. They have received special dispensation from the King to trade in South East Asia, and travel abroad with precious stones and metals, musk, herbs and other items. They import ready-made garments, watches and electronic goods. Many of the Manangies spend as much as six months away from home, returning only during the summers. Many of them reside in Kathmandu, where their children study in the English medium schools. The parents' lack of proficiency in the English language is irrelevant as it in no way affects their trading skills.
Since the area was opened to outsiders in the late 1970s, many have switched from the traditional agriculture to hoteleering.
The trail from Manang to Muktinath has been used by the locals for hundreds of years to transport huge herds of sheep and yak in and out of Manang. It is an important route for the people of the region.
The northern parts of Manang Valley are dry, brown and desolate places, very different from the thick forests and brown green valleys of Sikkim and Eastern Nepal.

Travel Destinations in Panama

Panama is a country of cultural and natural beauty; its roots reach back into history as a trade hub and today, its skyline ever-evolving as a real estate and travel hotspot. But with all the widely-publicized beauty the country retains, here are our 5 spots you’ll rarely read about in pamphlets or see on TV.

Isla Canas, Los Santos: This small island just south of Pedasi in Panama’s Azuero Peninsula is a gem waiting to be discovered. It is the home to a thriving native population, some of the most secluded beaches in the country, and the nesting location of giant leatherback turtles. Bring a tent as few, if any, accommodations exist.

Lago Bayano, Darien: This giant lake sits in the province of Darien which, on paper, is a dangerous place due to its proximity to the border with Columbia. However, this region is far north enough to void you of harm; its pristine good looks enough to impress even the most seasoned eco-traveler. Explore the caves surrounding the rim of the lake, or discover hidden waterfalls on perhaps on of Panama’s most far-flung paradises.

Boca Brava, Chiriqui: An island, lying just off the coast of Boca Chica in the Chiriqui province, Boca Brava boasts white sand beaches and that great jungle-to-sea contrast. Hire a local boatman for the day (no commercial tours do this yet) and explore the surrounding coastal areas where, chances are, you’ll be the only one in sight. The sport fishing is world-class, the indigenous Indians are culturally rich, and it’s only an hour from the capital city of David!

Playa Chiquita, Colon: The Caribbean coast in Panama is developing at a slower rate than the Pacific, but there are still wonderfully quaint towns to enjoy. Drive up to Colon and head past Portobello to find this lovely beach area identified by a small fishing village and a tiny hotel. It’s about 25 minutes by boat from the nearest docking area and sports that wonderful Caribbean calm; clear waters, rustling palm trees, and a beer on the beach are in order.

Torio, Veraguas: Veraguas in the only province in the world that coasts two different oceans. Wander down the Azuero Peninsula to the sleepy town of Torio for surfing, hiking, or simple beach relaxation. It’s an easy drive from the hub town of Santiago on a finely-paved road. Stop at one of the roadside shacks for fried fish or enjoy some of the last remaining textarea.25 beers in the Republic.

It’s best to explore these unknown paradises by car seeing as though most tour groups don’t offer trips there. Also one can find easily panama real estate for sale. You will find locals to be friendly and the atmosphere to be far off the radar of traditional tourism crowds. They provide the perfect match against a night or two in cosmopolitan Panama City; showing how Panama, the hub of the Americas, is truly destined for tourism stardom

Iconic Summer Escapes: The Greek Isles

Whitewashed villages clinging to volcanic cliffs, the Aegean Sea glittering blue below. Yachts clogging harbors, ferries swarmed by touts offering backpackers cheap places to stay. Long evenings of drinking and dancing that, yes, sometimes end with the crash of plates breaking. Ancient ruins baking under the sun. The clichés are true when it comes to the Greek Isles, along with the biggest cliché: few places in the world come as close to paradise in June, July and August.

Introduction to Barcelona

A Gothic and Modernist marvel on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is quirky, cosmopolitan and effortlessly cool. This city breathes life: from chefs foraging for fresh produce in La Boqueria Market at the crack of dawn to partygoers leaving El Born's pulsating clubs around the same time. Pause for a minute, and discover Barcelona's real charm in small details -- the hidden courtyards of Barri Gòtic, the light catching Sagrada Família's wax-like turrets -- all coming together to make the Catalan capital one of Spain's most livable and loveable cities.
Things to Do
Start with a leisurely saunter down tree-lined La Rambla, dipping into the Barri Gòtic's maze-like alleyways to reach Santa Maria del Mar church. Antoni Gaudí has left his fantastical stamp on the city ? in the twirling spires of La Sagrada Família cathedral and sculpted greenery of Park Güell. The unmissable Picasso Museum displays Picasso's early sketches and Blue Period masterpieces. Join locals for sun on Barceloneta beach and shade in Montjuïc's gardens.
Shopping
La Boqueria Market's iron gates lead to Barcelona's best grazing -- shop for Iberian ham, glossy olives and creamy goat cheese before lunch at a seafood bar. Two metro stops north, the stately Modernist Passeig de Gràcia is a catwalk to designer labels, near Avinguda Diagonal's department stores like Spanish giant El Corte Inglés. Local creatives have set up galleries and boutiques in El Born, El Raval and Barri Gòtic, selling quirky fashion, vintage clothes and used records.
Nightlife and Entertainment
Barcelona's real party begins at midnight. Do like the Barcelonese -- take an evening paseo (stroll) in the Ciutat Vella, leading to an intimate bodega in Barrí Gótic and Plaça Real's jazz clubs and tapas bars. In trendier El Born DJs spin everything from techno to tango. Summer means cocktails and people-watching on Gràcia's squares and fiestas at Villa Olímpica's beach bars. Dress up for concerts at the Palau de la Música Catalana and opera at Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Restaurants and Dining
Michelin-starred chefs like Xavier Pellicer, Fermí Puig and Mey Hoffmann have firmly placed Barcelona on the gastro map. Restaurants with inspired menus and interiors cluster in elegant Eixample and El Born. The Barri Gòtic is packed with tiny tapas bars and vibrant restaurants dishing up Catalan fare like esqueixada (salted cod salad) and pan tomaquet (tomato bread). Look up the famous Los Caracoles ('the snails') specializing in exactly that. Head to Barceloneta for no-frills fish restaurants and Gràcia for a world of cuisines.
